Hello all,
I am making a connection using the CR Oracle ODBC driver. (And I have Return Results checked on)
I am using Crystal 9.

I make the connection no problem...
I can see the stored proc and choose it in Database Expert
When I open Database in the Field Explorer, I see the Stored Proc name....

Here's the problem:
There are no fields available in the stored proc.

This is using a Weakly Bound Ref Cursor.

When I use a Strongly Bound Ref Cursor I can see and use the fields in the Stored Proc. (But I need to use a Weakly Bound one)

I have read the White Paper from Crystal... If it didn't contradict itself so often it might be more useful.

Can someone offer some help here... LYANCH maybe? Lisa you seem to have this configuration working....

Thanks, Thadeus

I am still on 8.5 and only using strongly bound. Even then I had to "play" with the suggestions the whitepaper gave before i got a results set. I also had much better luck using a native connection instead of an ODBC connection so if you have that option, you might try it as well.

I would take what they suggest... and then guess :) what changes might make sense.. and a few that don't...

Its a lot easier if you can play with it yourself and don't need to have a DBA do all the installs.. i have a separate identical schema for just that...

I'm not sure, but I think that if you're using a weakly bound Ref cursor, you might need to actually run the procedure before you'll see the fields. Since it's weakly bound, there is no way for Crystal to know what the fields are until it has returned results at least once.

This issue is resolved, it was because they were using the wrong connectivity (cross post).
