Oracle Personal Version loads everytime i switch my computer on

I downloaded oracle8i personal edition from Oracle website. Now everytime i switch my computer on, it loads in the background slowing down other applications like peoplesoft. It also uses about 150mh of RAM.

Please advice on how to stop this happening.

If you are running Windows-NT/2000, there is a service that is setup by default to run at startup time. Look at your services (Start/Control Panel/Services or Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services). The service name will be something like OracleServiceXXX where XXX is your database's ID. Change the Startup Type of this service to MANUAL.
