hello,

I've got an Oracle on Solaris. I've got also a script /ora/s99oracle, which starts one db instance.
It's linked to S99oracle in rc3.d (start) and rc0.d (stop).
I wrote another script /ora/s99oracle2 which starts another instance of db.
But it doesn't work, First script is ok, but the second is not called.

What to do?
Thanks

Tomasz

Why not just add the second instance (I assume this is what you are trying to do) to the initial script. Why make Solaris work any harder? If you use the 'ORATAB' file correctly, and the $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbshut script, this should be easy. Instructions are in the 'Install Guide'. If you want to shutdown immediate, just copy the dbshut script and change the shutdown command and point your Unix Shutdown script to it.
