I have crystal 8.5 and am using Oracle 8i. I am using the Oracle ODBC Driver.

When starting a NEW Crystal Report or adding a table to an old one, I get the error "ODBC Error:[ORACLE][ODBC]Driver not capable". If I turn off smart linking, I don't get the error. Everything was fine until a week ago.

Any Ideas?

I'd leave off smartlinking but I am afraid of what else is not working properly.

Thanks,
Mary

You're not supposed to use the Oracle suppplied ODBC driver, it isn't supported by Crystal.

If you insist upon using the slowest means possible, that being ODBC, then use the Crystal supplied ODBC driver for Oracle, not the Oracle supplied ODBC driver.

Better yet, look for the data source called Oracle Server and use that (not an ODBC connection), it is a proprietary native connectivity created by Crystal for Oracle and is much faster.
