I installed Oracle express on my machine. I am able to see Oracle from the crystal report data expert. But all the options like
Add to Report,
Add to Favorites,
Add command to Report,
make a new connection .... all options are disabled.

Does it mean, Oracle is not properly istalled?

Hi,
Did you install Oracle before or after Crystal - sometimes when installed second, the Oracle client drivers/DLLs are not found by CR.

Can you connect to the database from one of Oracle's client tools ( like SqlPlus or SqlWorkshop - not sure what is installed with Oracle Express)

Installed Crystal XI R2 first and then Oracle Express edition. I am able to connect the database from SQL Plus.

Can any body tell me the possible ways of having this issue? I need the solution very urgently. Thanks in advance

Hi,
try a repair install of Crystal...

It may then 'pick up' the Oracle info it needs.

Can you connect to other data sources?

Hi,
No, there should/will be an option when you choose Crystal Reports in 'add/remove programs' that indicates a reinstall or Repair install - it will replace any missing components so you may need to have your CR disk handy.
