cant seem to find option that stops employees running reports with open checks.

Are you trying to stop them running the report on the workstation or on the server with Autosequences and reports?

There is no option but you can add a step to an autosequence which checks for open checks and cancels the report.

This is what I have setup under Autosequence.
open check report
Emp shift report
Emp Increment shift
Emp Clock Out

You will need to add the Check For Employee Open Cheques stored procedure to run as your first step and error and stop with warning if open cheques
