I'm not an Oracle expert but have used it a little. I have a Compaq server running Oracle 8.1.5 which has just developed a problem whereby the listner doesn't start and I can't connect to it from client machines or even sqlplus.

On start (NT4 server), Windows reports the following error in TNSLSNR80:

The procedure entry point lxnrpc could not be located in dll nlsrtl33.dll

If anyone has any hints or tips as to how I could investigate and hopefully resolve then I'd be most grateful

Thanks

Martin...

You most likely have a version mismatch. Did the error first appear after a software installation? Perhaps you overwrote nlsrtl33.dll during the installation.

I see that you are running Oracle 8.1.5, but are using the Oracle 8.0 version of TNSLSNR80. That could be the source of your problem right there.
