Hi,

Recently the listener on the database server did not respond to tnsping and keeps timing out.
Attempts to check its status fails as
>lsnrctl status
commands also fail to get respond and timed out.
The only solution I could think of was to kill the listener proccess and restart it. A check on the listener log and .trc file fail to reveal what was the cause. No error entries were found. What could probably be the cause?

check the listener property or protocol of network if not
then it is esey to create agane listener..
bye..
abidali.

hello,
listener's problems often have to do with protocol adapter
problems. (A tcp/ip connection may not work and a named pipes connection may work just fine).
