Oracle Functional Consultants Role!!!

I am learning Oracle Applications. Can anybody explain me what kind of Knowledge and qualifications a Oracle Functional consultant should require..and in real time environment what kind of job he need to perform. And what is AIM methodology any way? How is it helpful to a functional consultant?

I am wondering that what method you are using to learn oracle Applications ? I am not sure if Oracle Applications especially Financials are available on Oracle website for download. In fact, I also want to learn the Oracle Financial. Can anybody pls. guide me that how can I get access to the evaluation copy of Oracle Financial for my learning purposes.

Hey, Check metalink.oracle.com. go to TOP Tech Docs. Read manuals for the modules you are intrested in. You will find all help in manuals p0lus you need a Vision instance to practice some stuff.

To access Metalink, you have to be a subscriber of the Oracle Support Serivce and the access area is also dependend on your subsrcipted services

It depends on what modules we are talkling about (e.g., Finance, Dist, CRM, MFG)

If we are talking about finance, a functional consultant needs to have a strong understanding/background in accounting.

Here is at a high-level what a functional consultant does on a project:

- Gather business requirements
- Building process flows
- Configure Oracle Apps (setup steps)
- Creating test scrips
- Identifies gap in requriements and suggest solution
- Conduct test and CRP (Confrence room pilot)
- Finalize configuration (setup)
- Document configuration

AIM is Oracle's Application Implementation Method, a implementation methodology created specificly for Oracle Apps. The methodology was initially created for Oracle Consulting, but later released to the public.

Aim 3.0 is the lates release and it contains of a web front-end to guidelines, templates etc.

Hai Friends,
Can any one give me some tips to attend interview on Oracle Apps Mfg Functinal Consultant.
This will help me to prepare for the interview.
I have done one full cycle implementation as a Core team member. I have fair knowledge on Setups and Profile Options setting and good knowledge on Mapping.
Please give me some tips or the lessons learnt by you
