Has anyone reported off Oracle Forms. I am not an Oracle guy, but a contact has just asked me this question and I am in the dark at the moment.

Thanks

Oracle Forms isn't a data source, it's a tool used in conjunction with an Oracle database.

You can connect to an Oracle database, preferably you'd use the Crystal supplied Native Connectivity.

You'll want to learn basic information, such as what version of Crystal and Oracle.

Hi,
As synapsevampire indicated,
Oracle Forms presents data from an Oracle database ( can be from many tables and views, even from multiple Oracle instances, as well as display only items that are not in any table/view) and is used, mainly, for data input ( although it can be used to present data to the user in Form format)..

You would need to know what data the contact wants to report on and if that data is, in fact, in the Oracle database.

In addition to Oracle Forms, there is a report development tool, Oracle Reports, which is often used in conjunction with Forms, perhaps the source of the confusion.
You may want the Oracle Reports forum for more info.
