New installation of Oracle Forms Developer, 9iDS. Running in Win XP

Load a form into Forms Builder. Start OC4J. Connect to d'base. Compile. All ok so far. Click "green light" to run form.

We get the "Page can not be displayed" screen that frequently crops up on the net if the url is wrong or obsolete. Nothing about loading jinitiator. No mention of 9iAS.

If we click green light again to re-run we are told that the listener is not running, so something is messing up the java environment.

Has anyone encountered this? Could it be a setting somewhere on the pc?

It's possible you may need to configure your browser to bypass a proxy server for your own machine. Having it set to all "local addresses" does not seem to be sufficient - you need to explicitly give it a machine name.

In Edit->Preferences->Runtime set the Applicationh Server URL to [tt] machine>:8888/forms90/f90servlet[/tt]
