It has been suggested by a bod at work that our installation of OFA might be replaced by a system written in Microsoft Project 98. I'm dubious.

We use OFA as a financial tracking and forecasting / budgeting tool using all the functionality of drill down slice and dice etc.

Can Project 98 do the multi-dimensional OLAP processing like OFA. Do I need to get up to speed on it ?

I've used Project 98 but nothing newer than that so my experience is limited to the 98 version only. But I don't know of anyway to get Project to do anything similar to what OFA does. I've developed a budgeting/ reporting/ costing system within OFA, and use it almost like I would a database. I could see something like Kaufman Hall's Enuff Advisor being used to replace OFA if all you are doing is Budget and Forecasting. But if you need the power and flexibility of OFA then stick with it.
