HI,

i'm new to DBA WORK AND WAS WONDERING WHERE I COULD GET A REFERENCE BOOK THAT WOULD GIVE ME A SOLID BASE INFORMATION IN THE AREA?

REGARDS

Not to mention the Oracle Library. I have the following and use them regulary:

Oracle 8i DBA Handbook
Oracle 8i The Complete Reference
Terry M. Hoey

Go to the o'reilly books website - there are lots of very good oracle books and they let you sample a some of them by posting a full chapter on the website. I personally like their books and the oracle press books for reference. O'reilly sells one "book" which is a CD with 6 or 7 basic oracle reference books all on the CD and a unified index for rapid lookup of all 6 or 7 books. I am not as pleased with the '101' series of oracle books from osborne press.

The Oracle Server Concepts manual is usually my first stop for learning about an Oracle feature.
