i'm new to DBA WORK AND WAS WONDERING WHERE I COULD GET A REFERENCE BOOK THAT WOULD GIVE ME A SOLID BASE INFORMATION IN THE AREA?

There are lots of materials and references in Oracle Technet, and you can register for free.

- there are lots of very good oracle books and they let you sample a some of them by posting a full chapter on the website. I personally like their books and the oracle press books for reference. O'reilly sells one "book" which is a CD with 6 or 7 basic oracle reference books all on the CD and a unified index for rapid lookup of all 6 or 7 books. I am not as pleased with the '101' series of oracle books from osborne press.
