Oracle db beginner needs Help

Hi,
Is there anyway I can work on an oracle db without logging in as the administrator of the operating system? What is the requirements for running oracle db? I have signed up for oracle online tutorial, but I dont have administrator right at work, what should I do?

What a user can do in an Oracle database is determined by the DBA of that database.This person does not have to be ( and often isn't) the same as the OS administrator for the server on which the Oracle database is installed.

If the database you want to work with is on a remote server you need to contact the Oracle DBA and request a username and permissions to allow you access.
