The Oracle Applications that I'm using running on Sun server (unix 5.6) and also connect with Window NT . A print server (Mocha W32 LPD Print Server )is used for handling printjobs from Oracle Applications. FYI, the formfeed option on the printer (eg: PRINTRONIX) has been set to enable. I also set at Oracle Application->Install->Printer->Driver->
Arguments as:

lp -c -d$PROFILES$.PRINTER -n$PROFILES$.CONC_COPIES -t"$PROFILES$.TITLE" $PROFILES$.FILENAME

Initialization as:
/ff

However, the setting is not working, Please HELP.

Thanks

Can you print the file from the OS (prepend your request output with your initstring and send it to the printer from the OS)?

When you say it is not working, can you be more specific ?
Like the other person says, can you print ok from the operating system using the lp command providing it with the specific arguments ? If the answer is no, then this is an OS problem and not an Apps problem. Jeremy Webb.

I can print report/output using lp command, however, after printing, the printer not able to formfeed. How to set formfeed from UNIX and Oracle ERP application. Please help.

Check your printer manual for the correct escape sequence for a Form Feed, then put this into the Initialisation string rather than /ff. Jeremy Webb.

In front of your init string AND in the reset box of the printer driver screen you need the reset sequence for your printer. Do you have that? For an HP it is /eE, I don't know what it is for your printer.

Other situation I've seen is where people are trying to print through an NT box from unix. Is the printer set up on the unix server by itself? The other situation is that sometimes there is an OS driver that is overriding anything you try to do.

Where are you at now?
