Have an interesting question. What do I do when an Oracle application shows no results but also displays no error messages? I have re-installed Oracle, re-installed the application files and restarted everything.
The application used to work just fine, but we were hit with a virus last week. Though the virus is taken care of, the application doesn't work anymore.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

When you say the virus was taken care of, do you mean the virus was deleted off the system, or that patches were applied to stop the virus from coming back, or that you anti-virus software was updated with the latest virus definitions?

If you were hit with the MSBaster virus, that thing will continue to come back if you merely deleted the virus. You should install the patch, (and all uninstalled critical updates for that matter), and download the latest anti-virus software definitions from your vendor.

Assuming that's not the case, I have run across this when a variable was undersized. For example: the variable was defined as a varchar2(40) and the application was trying to set the variable to something greater than 40 characters, or it was defined as number(6) and the application was trying to set the variable to a number greater than 999,999.
