Hi everybody,

I have a WinNT machine with Oracle8i and want insert rows into the DB from a browser. Therefore i have installed the Apache Web Server on Linux on another computer which should manage logins of the clients. Is there an example script for accessing the DB or inserting rows availiable and do i need something else?
Many thanks

I'm assuming you also have a DAD defined for your database.
What I have done is create a procedure in the database that accepts values as arguments and inserts them into the table.
A browser-based form allows the user to input values; when they click on the SUBMIT button, the procedure is called and the values are supplied.

- i am new in this area
- i dont know what is DAD (admin?)
- Is there an SQL-command for reading txt files or else
- should i allways read and modify a file with the apache-
server or can i connect directly to the oracle-db
- or should i use thirdparty tools (i dont like oracle forms)
that is the rest of the combination of my system with the db and the apache webserver, simple html-files i have alredy written and tested, buh, i havent think that this is so expands.
Anyway, many thanks for every answer
