Recently switched to a new backup server, old backup server is able to slect every database on the database server and successfully back them up. New server sees the data base server but dosen't display any of the databases.

Any ideas? Any help will be greatly appericated.
Thank you

Hey 2D,

you can't afford to blunt in life!!!
Gimme the version of Oralce, arcserve version and was the Oralce agent configured on the new Oracle server?????

Hail Thevidiya

Oracle 8i on Windows 2000 Server
Agent version 7.0 Build 450

ARCServe server, ARCServe 2000 Build 1100
on Windows 2000 server

Both Servers are running SP4
And the Oracle Server didn't change, the ARCServe server is the one that changed.

Sounds good,

Did'ya configure the Oracle agent on the Oracle server with the Internal account?

What do you mean when you say

"New server sees the data base server but dosen't display any of the databases."

Are you able to expand the databases by right clicking on them after providing the username, password?

How many databases are you running on the Oracle server?

Have you configured all the databases using the Oracle agent?Every single Instance needs to be configured seperately using the Oracle agent.

Thevidiya Rulz!!

Yes, the Agent is configured.

When attempting to backup the Databases from the ARCServe server(seperate server), I expand Client Agents, then Windows NT/Windows 2000 Agents, then expand the Database server and no databases show up.

There are 5 Databases on this server

I beleve that all the databases are configured, i know 4 of the 5 are.

In order to see the databases on the Oracle server you have to go through Network Neighborhood, Microsoft Networks, find the Oracle server, expand it and you should be able to see the databases.

RMV,
Thanks I was able to selece the databases from there, In the past i was able to select the databases using the client agent, any clue why i can't now?

Thanks again

The only thing that I can think of is that the Client Agent is a seperate utility then the Oracle agent. It works the same way for SQL servers.
