I have installed Oracle 9iAS on Windows 2000 Server.
After instalation I have started with 'start all' all
infrastructure services. Alos with 'start all' I have attempted to start rest of 9iAS services (not in infrastructure) using Enterprize Manager again. However
EM show some services down, and one could not define
(down are Reports, Wireless, JServ ..) Not known for Discoverer. I can start Reports and Wireless, but after return to EM services are again down. By the way EM works quite slow (half a minute response). Also, I can't play
forms demo supplied with) 9iAS (Business Inteligence Demo
at Demonstration tab at host>.xx:7777
I have instaled 9iAS R2 version 9.0.2.0.1
We had same problem with 9iAS Version 9.0.2.0.0 exept that
we could play suplied demos (so new version act now worse).
For the moment installation is pure 9iAS R2 9.0.2.0.1
(no patches).
Platform is Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 3.
Should I configure something or procedee with patches.
Hardware is 1GHz and at least 2GBytes.

Best wishes

I succeded with demos now, used wrong port when accessing
host with EM (check ports!). Still Reports, Portals, Wireles and JServ are shown down in EM. Discoverer in EM is represented by ?.

I am having the exact same problem. If you have any additional info on it please share!

Some of my demos don't work, and I'm using the correct URL's.

In enterprise manager:
discoverer shows a ? status
reports is down
wireless is down

I have just returned from holiday and did some other
work before, but as far as I can recall you can't expect to
(at least easilly) get all signs OK (green) in entrrprise manager. It still doesn't mean that function is not working, you 'just' get wrong indication. To get correct indication for reports you should comment security id tag in RepSRV.conf (SRV should be your report server name and SRV depends on name you eneted during instalation of 9iAS) in directory
../reports/conf

You should find line
<security id="rwSec" .......
.....
</security>

and comment it like this:
<!--security id="rwSec" ...
.....
</security-->

This has something to do with too long string within security id tag, I think it was a bug.

After this change you will get OK for report server in EM

I didn' need wireless and portal and didn't mess long with it.
JServ should be as it is because I think it is intentionaly disabled (you can change it but it is not recomended.

Also you can consult Oracle metalink where you may find answers to some of your questions, and possibly start a TAR
with your ORACLE technical assistance team.

Alltogether 9iAS 9.0.2 apeared to us slow and unstable so we wait for new release, and use older version 1.0.2, just played a little with 9.0.2.

Very best wishes
