Hello,

Background:
Oracle server: Netware 5.1
Oracle version: 8i that comes bundled with Netware
Client computer: Win2000 on private network via crossover cable
(I have set my hosts files on both machines to properly resolve each other's hostnames)

I am trying to set up Enterprise Manager to connect to my database. I have setup Net8 and have successfully connected to my database using Net8, Sql*Net, and through NDS. But I cannot get Enterprise Manager to see the database.

It is currently set up to connect using SPX (because I couldn't get TCP working).

When I try and connect using the same service name that I used in Net8 it tells me: "ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name". Does Enterprise Manager only work in TCP? If so, are there any parameters that have to be set within TCP (for example: packet size) for Net8 to work properly?

I have installed and reinstalled this server from scratch about 6 times with tcp/ip only, with tcp/ip and spx, and with spx only, but despite following the documentation step by step, I can't get tcp working. Only spx at the moment.

Please Please Please Please help.
