Hi all,
The title sounds like Oracle question but it's related to the AIX Kernel.
I've just received a request from our DBA that he wants to install oracle 9i (64Bit) on a machine currenlty running oracle 8i (32bit). The kernel currently is 32-Bit.
Would that be possible to have those running concurrently on a 32 bit kernel?
I know that a 32 bit kernel can run a 64-bit application with no problem but since this is going to be production later on (I mean we gonna get rid of the 8i and go pure 9i on that server) So would my configuration be affected in any way?
Regards,
Khalid
