I'm using Crystal Reports 9 with service packs 4 & 5 hotfixes up to date, Oracle 9. ODBC Data Sources lists Oracle in OraHome92 as the driver for db connections.

When I set location in a Crystal Report, selecting the Oracle Server connection, the connection window header reads 'Oracle 8 Server.' Should I be concerned that something has not been updated properly from version 8 to 9?

Naw, it should be fine.

If you're going to use ODBC, use the Crystal supplied Oracle ODBC driver, not Oracles. Make sure you turn on the Procedure Returns Results in the options tab if you're going to be using Stored Procedures (may as well in any case).

But you should use the Crystal supplied native connectivity which is listed as Oracle Server, it's much faster.
