Oracle 8 and AIX 5

About a year ago I heard that oracle 8 would not run on AIX 5. If you wanted Oracle on AIX 5 you had to go to 9i,that oracle was not going to put out the patches for it Is this still true.

If you go to and check the "Certify & Availability" it tells you most of this information. You do have to get a user id...

When I checked it said that Oracle Server Entriprise Edition 8.1.7 is certified on AIX 5L in 32 bit mode only.

Thanks that was the other part I couldn't remember. It ok on 32 bit but not 64.
