oracle 8.1.7 on aix 4.3.3 migration to aix 5.3

Hi, I've been asked to migrate a server from aix 4.3.3 to aix 5.3. This server is using oracle 8.1.7, and I don't know if it will work with aix 5.3.

I've searched in this forum, but I've only found thread186-1116052 about this kind of migration, and it's not quite clear.

Is oracle 8.1.7 supported with aix 5.3?
Do I need to do something after migration?

Never worked with oracle, so don't know what to look for.

Hi,

Oracle 8.1.7 is desupported by Oracle. It was supported on AIX 5L (but that was for a release prior to 5.3).
When you try the OS-migration be sure to run with 32-bit kernel.
For additional information have a look at metalink->certify.
