Oracle 8.1.7 install hangs on Win2000

Hi everyone, we're trying to install Oracle 817 on a new Windows 2000 Server and when we run the setup, it goes thru it's paces but then hangs near the end. In one instance, the machine went to 99% then mysteriously just performed a shutdown/reboot.

We tried running both the top-level setup.exe and the subfolder setup.exe

We have Oracle 9.2 on a similar machine and we had no issues with the install.

Any tricks?

is it a pentium 4 ? if it is the setup was patched. you should search metalink.

Yes, it is a Pentium 4 CPU (2.6 Ghz)

Should I search metalink under "Oracle 8 Pentium 4" ???
