Hello everyone,

I am looking for oracle 8.1.6 specific file. The name of the 2 files is plus33w.exe and plus80w.exe. Now the scanario I have here is that I had originally installed 8.1.7 server on Windows NT server. I am installing an application that requires oracle db. Unfortunately, there is no mentioning of oracle db version in software user guide. So when I try to connect to oracle db, it throughs that error message saying that it needs these 2 files that I mentioned above. I have noticed that oracle db version 8.1.6 does contain the 2 files in question, but not 8.1.7 which I don't understand. My question is that should I go ahead with oracle 8.1.6 rather then 8.1.7? Also, has anyone seen similar error message. The path in which it looks for those 2 files is \orant\bin\.

Thanks for your help. I am not able to find any downloadable link for oracle 8.1.6 since its very old. Please let me know if anyone know about how to download oracle.

Thanks again.

Both files represent the same program: sql*plus, namely its GUI Windows version. Actually plus33w.exe is and old version from Oracle7. Instead of them you may use console version that doesn't differ a lot. Its name is sqlplus.exe. Besides the GUI one may be called [/b]sqlplusw.exe[/b]. But again, these are different names of the same program.

Regards, Dima

Thanks for your help. I see what you saying, but I think I found someone's installation notes for this particular software 'Clarify CRM'. According to those notes, I would need oracle 8.0.6 which I know is fairly old. Do you know where could I get this version of oracle downloaded. Our tech support ticketing systems relies on clarify and that has been down for 2 weeks. You can imagine that I am going thru a night mare already.

Thanks again.
