oracle 8.1.6 on Redhat 6.2

I'm having trouble installing oracle 8.1.6 (s.e.) on a redhat 6.2 platform. I downloaded JRE 2.2 but the oracle installer can't find it. even after making a symbolic link. Help me please!! [sig][/sig]
