Oracle 7.3.4 and Windows 2000

I'm an Oracle newbie and I would like to self-train by installing Oracle at home, where I run Windows 2000 Pro. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to install Oracle 7 on Win 2K Pro? If not, which is the 'oldest' (i.e. cheapest!) version of Oracle I could use for this purpose. As I said, it is purely for educational reasons that I'm interested in doing this. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give

Try Oracle 8.1.7.

Thanks for that. Is it literally impossible to install Oracle 7 on Win2k?

I have not try it though, but Oracle does not guarantee other versions other than 8.1.6 up for personal edition.

If you are a newbie to Oracle there is not much point starting with an obsolete version

Take rcurva's advice - use 8.1.7
