oracle 11g backup and restoration

I am looking for an enterprise grade solution for performing backups and restores of an Oracle 11g database. The database is to grow to over 3TB within the next year. We would like to create a database recovery plan so that we can restore our database in case of failure. Does anyone have experience with backup and restoration of Oracle 11g databases and, if so, what sort of software and hardware is needed to accomplish this? Any information that could be provided on this subject would be very much appreciated.
