I have an Oracle 10g DB and I'm trying to connect with Crystal Reports Pro 11 and not having much luck. I've been told they will not work together. I find that hard to believe.

I'm connected using CR 10 right now, and I've connected using CR XI in the past.

Please post your source for stating that they will not work together.

Stating "not having much luck" doesn't help us, try posting technical information, such as error messages, which type of connectivity you are trying (ODBC, OLE DB, Native???), whether you're using a new report or an existing, and any other technical information, then afterwards you can attribute it to luck or vent a bit, but first post your environment and the observations.

Do you have the proper Oracle client installed and can you connect using other programs?

You need an Oracle client, the TNSNAMES.ORA file needs to be set properly (OK, for you purists there are ways around a client and the tnsnames file), and then you should select Oracle Server under More Data Sources as the method to connect.

Please, in future posts don't say "it doesn't work", state what you tried and what Crystal returned as a result.
