I'm trying to use the oraback script for my oracle instance but it doesn't work.
I get no errors.
This is the output i get:

Simultaneous backups not supported for
tape devices. (Will do serially.)
==============================================================
Oracle database backup started on quality: 08:04:57 09/07/2001
==============================================================

Creating table of contents for this backup...
Then placing it as a file called oraback.sh_prodenv_09_07_2001 on
(and verifying that is set to NO-REW...)

Label the tape in /dev/rmt1: "oraback.sh_prodenv_09_07_2001".
---------------------------------------------------
Backup tape ejected at 08:05:29 07/09/01

===============================================================
Oracle database backup ended on quality: 08:05:30 09/07/2001

Can somebody help me?

Label the tape in /dev/rmt1: "_opt_app_oracle_admin_qualp_backup_dwight_scripts_oraback.sh_09_07_2001".

invalid working dir!

Is oraback a home-grown script? What is in it?

No, i bought a book called Unix backup and recovery (o'reilly). There was a cd-rom included.
I did everything the book said so....

just a thought but did you or do you run as oracle? or dba or is the profile for
oracle loaded when you run it.........it sounds like the path or environment is not set up completely?

Or look at the script to see where it is trying to write to and create those directories with the right permission....I guess since I didn't see the script, I do not know where it is trying to write..........

sorry
