I'm an Oracle DBA and my client has started reporting sporatic ORA-03115 errors (unsupported network datatype or representation) since I upgraded our production database from V8.1.7 to V10g. Here's our lineup of versions.
Oracle Client: V7
Powerbuilder : 6
Net8
Oracle 8.1.7
Oracle 10g
The application runs on a oracle client running Version 7 and Powerbuilder 6. It connects to the Oracle 8.1.7 database which in turn uses a database link to get information from the Oracle 10g database. The ORA-03115 error seems to be coming back from the Oracle 10g database. The error is not consistent and I can't replicate it in development.
Has anyone run into this before? Is there a workaround other than upgrading the client Oracle and Powerbuilder versions?
Thanks
