ora-12560 TNS : Protocol Adapter Error

hi guys
I m a new user of Oracle 9i. I just installed
Oracle9i Database Release 2 Client for Windows 98/NT/2000/XP Installation type : Runtime
I m unable to login to the sql plus
using scott/tiger,system/manager or sys/change_on_install
please advise.

did you get any additional error messages?

Have you set up SQLNET? Make sure there is an entry in TNSNAMES for your new database, then specify the SID when logging in.
