Hi,

I have been trying to connect to a database and get told that "Connect failed because target host or object does not exist". I have started LSNRCTL on both machines yet no joy.
I am trying to connect from a win98 (called fifi) to a win2K (called greg). I am wondering whether I am using the right protocol (TCP is set-up on the network) but how do I test that it is using TCP? I have tried connecting from Greg to Fifi but get the same error.

This is the error....

LSNRCTL> start
Starting tnslsnr: please wait...
