ORA-04030:Out of Process Memory

I have apersistent problem, when running our application we keep getting the error message

"ORA-04030:Out of Process Memory when trying to allocate 8208 bytes (sort subheap,sort key)"

I increased the server RAM from 4GB to 6GB and setup the PAE switch so that windows can see the extra RAM installed. Still same problem persists. Has anyone else ever come across this issue?

indicates a potential error other than RAM. A search on the error seems to throw up a couple of guys who have run into similar scenarios.
