Hi

I am using Actuate 8 with oracle 9i client.

I have some SQL that when run in TOAD (under Oracle ver 8) works fine but when I paste this code into Actuate (under oracle 9i) and run it somes up with

ORA-00923 (FROM keyword not found where expected)

I am using the same oracle username/password to access the database so access is exactly the same.

Its a long sql script so wondering whether actuate is cutting off part of it before running?

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

in your obtainselect method of your datastream add a line after the obtainselect..
setclipboardtext(obtainselectstatement),
This should put your Sql into the clipboard so you can see what Actuate is using.

If you are pasting your SQL from an editor, cahnces are you are picking up some control characters. Be sure you don't have any control characters by removing all blank lines, and all spaces in the SQL, and reformat it with the space bar only. If you upgrade to version 9, this will never be an issue
