hello everyone.
I would like to move my Op11 Expansion shelf (only), over to another building (about 1km away ).
The cabinets are currently connected via 10 metre plastic Fibre, Using -
NTBK54AC MFI and NTBK55AC EFI units.

I have multimode fibre cable available between buildings.

Is there a nortel product or some way to make the expansion shelf work over 1km of multimode fibre?
Has anyone done something like this?

Thanks
Steve

Hi,

If you install a 3Km (1.8mi) fibre daughterboard and a 3Km reciever card you can connect a cabinet xKM (Guess [pipe]) Km away...

You should need the following hardware:

NTDK24 Fiber Expansion daughterboard (Multi Mode)
NTDK25 Fiber Receiver Card (Multi Mode)

NTDK79 Fiber Expansion daughterboard (Single Mode)
NTDK80 Fiber Receiver Card (Single Mode)

I thought the 3 KM fibre cards only worked on single mode fibre, although I could be wrong. Can anyone confirm this?

Well I got this from the NTP's so this should be right...

Thanks guys - I'll check out the cards.
