OPTION11: CONFERENCE vs JOIN (FEATURE 3) 1

hello,
i am just wondering if anyone can give me some help on the programming of the conference feature. old meridian let us hit feture3 and bridge up 2 calls on one line. new option 11 makes you hit conference and then draw dialtone and add on the second party that way. i am looking to be able to bridge up 2 inbound calls. i have found some reference to the join feature on the merl cd, but i am new to the pbx side of the house. any ideas?

You can use the feature called Call Join. Say you have a call on key 0 and a call comes in on key 1 your rollover. You put key 0 call on hold, answer ringing key 1. You want to conf. the two together - while on the phone with Key 2 press conference key, press held call on key 0, press conference key again - tada - you should all be on conf together and ony one Key lit on your set.

Thanks, I will try that when I get back in the office tomorrow. But just out of curiosity, is that a different feature in the features list than conference? is there a code for call join that i need to look for or is that just a function of the conferencing feature? thanks again, jeff

I think you are talking about two different system - Feature 3 on a Norstar and Conference on the Opt11
