Hi:
I have two hard drives on my PC. Master/Slave.

Can we do such thing that When i boot my PC it ask me from which Hard Drive you want to boot.
Like i want to install Windows 98 on one Hard Drive and Windows XP on other hard drive.

SO can it is possible that there is option to choose from which Hard drive i should boot..??

Thanks in Advance..

There are a fair number of threads on this, but to summarise;

Yes, this is totally possible, and very easy.

It goes by the rule of thumb; "Always install the dumbest O/S first".

First, partition and format your disks.

For example, if you were going to install Windows 98 to disk 1 and Windows XP to disk 2, then do the following;

1. In fdisk, delete any existing partitions on both disks.
2. Create a new partition on disk 1 and make it active.
3. Reboot (using a CD-ROM enabled boot floppy).
4. Format drive C:
5. Insert the Windows 98 CD-ROM and run setup
6. After Windows 98 has successfully installed, insert the Windows XP CD-ROM while Win98 is running.
7. The Windows XP setup should start automatically, and should allow you to install Windows XP to the unpartitioned space. Choose to format the 2nd hard disk as NTFS, unless you want Windows 98 to be able to access that hard disk too.

XP will install and configure a boot loader automatically which will allow you to choose the O/S at startup.

Note; You will have to install all your applications twice, once for each O/S.

I usually have a separate applications and data partition (FAT32) so that I do not waste space unnecessarily.

I hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
