I printed out my configuration and seen that there is no History file.
If I go into LD17 and change HST size, will it take effect or does the system need to be reinitialized.

will need a ini at least....

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Thanks! I was hoping I wouldn't need to init the system. Our system was installed by SBC last May. I just took a class Basic Database Admin and found how to print the config. So I was surprised that History was not figured. Since I'm a beginner I will have a SBC tech come in just in case after the init there are problems.

If they're coming in may as well get them to do the work. If you complain that it should of been there in the first place they may not charge...

You dont have to INI the switch when you change (add)the HST in ADAN

Thanks! I'm in the process of getting SBC back to configure the History file and of course they were going to charge me so now I'm fighting back since it should have been done.
Meanwhile I have a question. What type of messages should I have collected.
I know the following types are SCH, BUG, MCT, MTC, TRF.

I can't seem to figure out what MTC and TRF are.

MTC = will givve you error, bug and audit
TRF = Traffic
MCT = Malicious call trace, TN needs CLS MCTA and Key x TRC

If this is a collection TTY then ok, If this is a maintainence port then I would suggest disregard TRF, MCT and MTC.

It really depends on what you want to capture.
