We are getting ready to open a new facility that ties back to our main location via fiber. We met with cisco for some router needs and they proposed that we do the following;
Swing PRI off the DS3, and plug it into a cisco 3845 router, which has a switch on the other side interfacing with the fiber. The far end fiber will go into a switch, then to a cisco 28xx router, then to a DTI/PRI card in the remote option 11. Anyone do anything like this, and if so any pitfalls ect. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Eddie,

Cisco is just sliding in a Fiber MUX card into their equipment. Many manufacturers can do the same thing, so don't let Cisco make seem like they are the only player to do this, however to have it integrated into our router is one less piece of equipment you would need.

Other equipment manufacturers you may want to check out...

Just find one that will provide Gigabit speed for your Ethernet.

Not selling call parrot anymore Jamieduece?

Nope, but congrats on your new sales position. You are just like a used car salesman, so I know you will do good at sales on the parrot line.
