Option 61 Maintenance

Is it recommended to reboot the system periodically
for maintenance? Weekly onsite phone tech suggested
that it be rebooted since it has been a year for
the last downtime. When it was turned back on (for UPS maintenance) it took 45 minutes to back in service. It
was alarming waiting when the system will return to service. What testing is beneficial for rebooting the system? Any tips in this area is greatly appreciated.
