Option 61: Create type 500 extension to dial out without '9' first

I am trying to set up an option 61 switch to allow a single extension access to an outside line immediately, a lighting contractor claims his software has issues with dial timouts when run through a PBX. Is there an easy way to set this up for a single extension, all others are dialing 9 to get outside line access.

Just set that extension up with a Hot Dial of 9

Add Flexible Hot Line.
1-31 = maximum digits for Hot Line DNs.
xxx...x = Flexible Hot Line DN.
yyy...y = Phantom DN for a two-way Hot Line.

If you are using a Modem or Fax machine on an analogue extension port, then you can use pre translation to allow outgoing calls to be made without the need to key in "9" first.

The programming is done in LD 18, 15 and against "XLST" on the extension port in LD 10.

Yes sir, it is a modem. I will try the pre-translation route; is it the one listed on ghtrout's previous posting? The shorter versions don't seem to work on this option 61 system.

Just use one method - you do not need HOT and pre-trans - only one or the other.
