We suffered a power outage and when our Otion 11 cam back, it will not boot up. It shows the self test and passes, but then dies after loading X11. It just keeps repeating the X11 message over and over on the terminal. All cards in the primary and expansion cabinet are red with the exception of the SSC card. It goes red then the status LED goes off. Meridian Mail is green. Any ideas? Bad SSC card? Thanks in advance!

You can try reseating the SSC card and trying again. IT sometimes works, at least its a free try!

Your Option 11c sounds to have a corrupted daughterboard. Try booting up the CPU with the top dip switch on the CPU moved over to the right hand side. (Leave the existing dip switch as it is!).
You should see extra messages appear on TTY 0. Can you print off the boot up secquence & post it here please?.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

How old is your Option 11? We have one with mail that is very old and we have to take it down, reseat the SSC card but keep it down for 15 minutes plus before attempting to bring it up. Trying to bring it up any sooner than 15 minutes will not work... Worth a try!

I forgot to say that during the power up sequence, see if you can access "pdt". If you get a message along the lines of "error accessing pdt" then your daughterboard is corrupted & will need to be re installed again.

I would also unseat all the cards except the SSC then try again if still not booting, the SSC will probably need reloading.

The same thing happened to me a few months back. I had to replace the daughterboard, re-install the software, then re-install the database.

good luck!

Normally the CPU will be fine & you can recover the systems database from it when the Daughterboard has been replaced or repaired & software reloaded.

How do I program 911 to call extension 441? Our 911 is not associated with emergency services such as fire/police dept. because we're a remote site in the Arctic, extension 441 is our onsite medic and his extension rings into his clinic, office and dorm room. I've done this before but lost my notes on how to program it. Thanks for any response and assistance.

You questions should be a new post, but is '9' your AC1 for BARS?

If '9' is not your AC1, then you could try just building a dummy ACD and set you NCFW to 441.

Not sure how your setup in the Artic.

I agree with firebird I have seen this before try replacing the daughterboard

It's only dialtone-VZ

As a last ditch effort before replacing you can try running the production tests on the Daughter board and then reloading if they pass through ok. Might save you the hardware change, if you dont know how to do the production tests ask your vendor for help.
