IS-IT--Management
Hello,
Here’s our situation in as great a detail that I can provide. I’m not a newbie but I’m certainly no expert with the Nortel Option 11C. I would greatly appreciate any advice or information that would help us.
Project:
Connect 2 sites with VOIP connection. Site 1 has a working Option 11c in which we have installed 2 T1 cards(These cards do not have the daughter cards as they aren’t needed because there is no Dchannel). Loop 7 has 1 T1 card and Loop 8 has the other. We have 1 T1 circuit (no dchannel) dmarked down from MCI which connects to a CSU/DSU which then goes into Loop 8 T1 card. This is going to be used for 4 incoming 800#’s. These numbers are going to route through the pbx and get sent through loop 7 to a multitech 2410 which will connect over a wan to a remote site 2. The majority of the dial plan programming is done on the 2410’s on each end and the PBX really just routes and sends digits for the 2410 to use. Site 1 will be also be able to dial a 3 digit code to connect over wan to remote site 2.
Problem:
Focusing on the internal calling to the remote site 2 aspects (since it is where our current problem is), a dial plan has been programmed into the pbx. User will dial 368xxxx and the PBX routes the call to loop 7 and pass all 7 digits. We’ve tested this and our pbx support vendor seems to think that it is working from the pbx end. However the 2410 picks up the routed channel but sits in a “waiting for digits mode” almost like all 7 digits aren’t being passed properly between the pbx and the 2410. Or any digits for that matter. We can’t “break the dial tone” and have anything transmit.
Any ideas, pointers or hints as to what might be the issue in this setup? What can we test from the pbx end that will let us know this is working properly? We have more confidence in the 2410 setup than the pbx at this point but know we aren’t perfect as well.
What we’ve done to test is set the 2410 to pass ANY info to a remote “soft” pbx for decoding and analysis. Nothing is being passed.
I thank all of you for any help you can provide.
-Shawn
