Option 11C How to format backup PCMCIA SD card?

Is there an Option 11 LD utility that I can use to format a PCMCIA SD card for backing up an Option 11C database? I want to format the 64MB card before using the LD 43 EDD command. I believe the card has to be formatted in an 8 bit or some obsolete format that can not be done with a laptop running Windows XP or higher?

If you have access to the PDT shell, there is a PDT command that will also format the card.
