We have a meridian option 11. We've had ongoing problems
with 2 fax machines not being able to fax multiple pages.
Incoming faxes are fine, but outgoing faxes with say 5 pages
or more disconnect and come back with a communication error.
We can get on those dns and talk without problems. Any
ideas?
Thanks.

Veasel,

Fax calls from a (2500 type station) Meridian switch are treated just like voice calls as unlike data station calls which raise a flag, fax call raise nothing to the system. The typical fax call is processed just like a voice call and rings the remote fax phone once prior to switching to the 2100hz fax tone which handshakes with the originating fax machine. If you are using compressed voice channels between your two sites you will get problems sending faxes depending on the fax rate. VOIP faxes can also be a problem unless the T-38 fax relay is properly configured in the voice gateway. For instance if you are running 8kb compressed voice channels you can only set your maximum fax transmission rate to 7200 baud.

Why not try sending your fax out over a carrier that doesn't compress using your central office trunks on your Meridian.
