does anyone know what i need to do in an option 11 to make the ringing volume on the phone stay once its adjusted. in a cics or mics you just set the volume to set instead of system.

it's set at the set level and should stay the way that you set it

so do you just hit the volume down button while phone is ringing?

Yes..or if you have a display phone, hit Program key and adjust the volume.
