Got an option 11 and my modem driver was giving out spurious rubbish, to cut a long story short I disabled TTY0
I thought easy enough so I connected the modem to tty 1 went to load 37 stat TTY its showing them all as enabled, diasble TTY0 and reenabled it but still no go. Is there any way I can bring the TTY 0 back without doing a manual INI?

use your maintenance set and re-enable through it. you will need to be sure your set has cls=mta and you know the spre code.
dial spre code and 91 then use keypad on phone to enter overlay and enter command to enable tty

Whats the difference between doing the reset on a maintenance set and Hyper terminal? As I said TTY 0 says enabled it isn't disabled.

If you can access another TTY port, Then log in at that TTY & go into LD 37. stat the TTY that's the problem & re enable it.

As you are using a modem to access your Meridian, Have you tried to remove all of the "USER" prompts & leave in just "SCH"?. I've found that a number of modems will lock up the TTY when you disconnect from the Meridian.

By leaving in just "SCH" on that TTY, Will prevent most lockups!.

OK, I direct accessed TTY1 statted LD 37 all ports show as active dis/enl TTY 0, plug direct in and get no responce....
I know I'm going to have to MAN INI but hoped there was another way.

Are you able to get any output from TTY "0"?
I have found some information below which might help on the following versions..

PATCH 11034..........20.19 AND 21.19 AND 22.46

PATCH 11034 PREVENTS A PROBLEM WHERE TTY's ON OPTION 11E/C SYSTEMS GO ONE WAY WORKING. i.e. MESSAGES CAN BE RECEIVED FROM THE SYSTEM BUT NO KEY BOARD INPUTS ARE ACKNOWLEDGED.

THE NORTEL DESCRIPTION OF THIS PATCH SAYS: Fixes a problem where TTY 0 on processor card (Opt11E/C) remain disabled after DIS and ENL in LD 37. The TTY stats as enabled but remains disabled in software.

I hope that this helps in your answer.

The port is showing enabled not disabled, I will read through the patch Thanx.
