Option 11 TTY lock up 1

We have 4 remote option 11s that are connected only via modem (TTY 0). At least once a week we get one of them lock up , I can get past the modem logon but no response from the Option 11.

Then I have to drive up to 2 hrs to get it working by pressing the man ini button, is there any other way of resetting the tty? or is there any better method of enabling the tty?

usually this is caused by the modem sending spurious characters to the m1 at which point it will disable the tty port. you need to make sure the modem is as dumb as you can make it. us robotics v everything external modems are good for this as you have dip switches on them that allow you to nail the suckers down - prevents things such as auto-baud detection etc

no there is no other way to reset the modem. if your on the same lan/wan what about a term server
